Story

This song came together in a funny way. I'd been thinking about an Americana song and came up with an pretty neat little chord progression. I think the lyrics had something to do with standing underneath a Lone Star sign or something stupid - just dripping with cheese, you know?? One day I was just swinging out a rythm and these same chords just fell into my left hand and I thought, "OH WOW!" Almost without thinking that little guitar riff on the low strings came out and the song just took off, man! Lyrically, I like the idea that opposites can live together in the same space. Sweet - sour, heavy - light, big - little. BIG LITTLE! Hey, Big Little Guy. The most famous Big little guy? Well, I'll let the song speak for itself....

Lyrics

So many times I'm left wondering just what you got in mind. I can tell you from where I stand that luck ain't so blind. You meaning what you're saying is all that I need Well I'm here to be the one who brings you to your knees. I can sling my stones and knock you ‘tween the eyes I'm not so big as others - I'm a big little guy. I won’t be the one to tell you what you need I won’t be the one who has the right. I'm sure my contrition is smaller than my spite I'm not so big as others - I'm a big little guy. If no one has the gumption to make a stand I'm left here to stand alone and take things in hand. Someone's got to balance this lot of a mess Take up the banner and make you redress I can sling my stones and knock you ‘tween the eyes I'm not so big as others - I'm a big little guy. I won’t be the one to tell you what you need I won’t be the one who has the right. I'm sure my contrition is smaller than my spite I'm not so big as others - I'm a big little guy.
